Volunteer and Sponsorship Coordinator
Between May – July, 2026
Remuneration: 35 hours per week for 8 weeks, $20.00/hour

The Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival is hiring a Volunteer and Sponsorship Coordinator for an 8-week summer position (35 hours/week) to help create an unforgettable experience at our vibrant festival held July 23-26, 2026.

About the Role

The Volunteer and Sponsorship Coordinator develops, organizes, implements, and coordinates the Volunteer Program for the annual festival. This includes recruiting, orientating, scheduling, coordinating and overseeing volunteers for the annual festival. They will also communicate with current and potential festival sponsors, soliciting cash and in-kind contributions. The coordinator may also assist staff and volunteers with other tasks, as needed.

Working with a dynamic team of festival staff and volunteers, this role requires strong organizational skills and a proactive, service-oriented approach.

Our festival is a multi-day, multi-venue event that brings the Village of Fort Langley to life. Together, we create a welcoming space for artists to shine, volunteers to collaborate, and audiences of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy exceptional performances, inspiring art, and an unforgettable festival atmosphere.

Compensation

  • $20/hour

  • 8-week position (May–July)

  • Flexible start date

Work Environment

  • Hybrid: Remote pre-festival work with some in-person meetings.

  • In-person attendance required for specific tasks the week of the festival and during the festival week

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Coordinator:

  • Consults and collaborates with the Festival organizing committee, committees, community members and agencies to develop volunteer programs and services to meet the needs of the Festival.

  • Utilizes the Langley Volunteer Bureau software program to recruit volunteers.

  • Creates detailed volunteer schedules for the festival.

  • Communicates with volunteers in writing and by phone.

  • Lead and/or orientates volunteers in various activities for the annual festival

  • Ensures volunteers are recognized and thanked for their work

  • Prepares and maintains a variety of reports, records, correspondence, and promotional material. 

  • Supports and fully participates in the Festival Organizing team.

  • Provides administrative support as needed.

  • Leads activities where lifting, walking, and assisting others may be required.

Sponsorship Coordinator

  • Implement a campaign for in-kind and cash sponsorship for the festival with support from festival staff

  • Track sponsorship benefits and prepare a plan for delivery (Sponsor banners on festival grounds, activation booths, online recognition, sponsor VIP passes, etc.)

  • Maintain and develop the sponsorship database

  • Develop a work plan and project tracking documents, generate templates, and manage the Sponsorship Google Drive

  • Compile sponsorship data in a concise sponsorship report, post-festival

  • Other administrative duties, as required

Your Qualifications

  • Be passionate about music and the arts

  • Have knowledge, experience, or demonstrated interest in arts and culture, community organizing, coordinating people, logistics, and other related areas (paid or unpaid experience is equally valued)

  • Have knowledge of volunteer work in the context of cultural and non-profit organizations

  • Have experience working in Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms and Calendar), Zoom, and other standard office applications

  • Have strong administration, analytical, planning, and organizational skills

  • Be able to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism

  • Be able to work with a broad demographic of people and be highly diplomatic with strong inter-cultural competency

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills (including excellent phone and email etiquette)

  • Be detail-oriented, highly organized and self-motivated with excellent time management skills

  • Be able to follow direction and work plans, take initiative, and work with confidence, independence, and urgency

  • Have excellent time management skills - comfortable working to multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Have experience with sponsorship and fundraising

Job Requirements

This position is anticipated to be funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Applicant requirements:

  • Availability: In-person attendance for select pre-festival activities and mandatory availability the week of the festival and during the festival weekend.

  • Equipment: Personal computer, software, and cell phone required.

  • Eligibility:

    • Between 15-30 years of age.

    • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee.

    • Valid SIN and eligible to work in Canada.
