New for 2025 - we’ve combined the Kidz Zone and Art Zone to create the new Art & Culture Zone! This special part of the Festival will feature visual art, performing art and Indigenous cultural activities for all ages.

Free Acrylic Painting Workshop with Eric Holz
Dates: Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27, 12:30 – 2:30pm

Unleash your inner artist at a fun and relaxed painting workshop led by local artist Eric Holz. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned painter, you'll enjoy this hands-on, step-by-step experience where all materials are provided, including quality paints, brushes, and a canvas.
Participants will have a colour photo of the featured painting to guide their work, and Eric—along with his friendly assistant—will be there to encourage and support you every step of the way. With great music in the background, you'll have everything you need to create your own masterpiece.
Best of all? There’s no pressure and no judgment—just creativity, encouragement, and fun!

About the artist
Eric Hotz has worked full-time as an artist, illustrator, designer, and painting/art instructor for over 30 years creating a wide variety of artwork in a number of styles and mediums. His favorite medium is working in acrylics and enjoy painting landscape and natural history subjects. He currently teaches acrylic and watercolour painting for the Langley Arts Council, as well as runs Paint Nite events for Paint Nite Fraser Valley and also renders paintings for art gallery shows either as a solo artist or in group shows.
Free Mehndi Workshop with Baljeet Kaur

Enjoy a memorable journey into the enchanting world of Mehndi with Baljeet Kaur. Whether you are new to Mehndi or looking to refine your skills, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to discover the magic of henna art.
This workshop will include informative discussions, creative exploration, and the opportunity to experiment with both traditional motifs and modern styles.
Baljeet will begin with an introduction to Mehndi art, followed by a demonstration of basic Mehndi designs on printed paper. Participants will practice these designs on the sheets provided, gaining confidence in their skills. Sample designs, including music themes, will be provided for participants to practice on paper.
Once comfortable, participants will apply their chosen designs on their own hands, with guidance and assistance from Baljeet as needed.
About the artist
Baljeet has honed her art in India, reflecting a deep appreciation for the rich history and diverse techniques of Mehndi application. She brings a blend of tradition and innovation as a Mehndi artist and experienced workshop facilitator, sharing the beauty and cultural significance of ancient Mehndi art form (creating beautiful designs and patterns using Mehndi that fade away over time, but leave a lasting impression of elegance and culture).
