Rising Star Jazz Musician Award Open!
Since 2019, the Rising Star Jazz Awards have celebrated exceptional young musicians who excel in jazz performance, study the genre at the secondary or post-secondary level, and aspire to pursue professional careers in jazz. These awards not only recognize their talent but also foster their growth with a $1,000 scholarship and a paid performance at the Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival.
Expanding Our Reach in 2025
As a festival that proudly showcases local, regional, and national talent, we expanded the awards in 2025 to invite applications from talented jazz students across British Columbia. With so many outstanding music programs in secondary schools and universities throughout the province, we want to ensure all deserving young artists have the chance to apply and shine.
Youth Stage features Rising Stars
Our Rising Star Jazz Award winners will take the spotlight on the festival's dedicated Youth Stage during the free festival on July 25 and 26, 2026, generously sponsored by the Tony Quo Vadis Foundation.
Award Categories
The Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival offers two award categories:
Secondary School Award
Post-Secondary Award
Each category winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship generously sponsored by Coast Capital and the Fort Langley Community Improvement Society, along with an exciting opportunity to perform live at the festival.
