The Kidz Zone: A Perfect Place for the Youngest Generation of Jazz & Art Lovers

Whether you’re taking part in activities and workshops at the Art Zone, perusing exhibit areas, or dancing to any of the bands performing at our five free stages, the Odlum Brown Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival strives to be a family-friendly place for everyone to enjoy!

We are thrilled that MacCallum Law Group LLP and Eagle Builders are helping us bring back the Kidz Zone - a vibrant space created especially for kids to explore art and music.

The Kidz Zone will be bursting with interactive and engaging activities for the whole family. Catch a strolling band or two, cool off at a misting station and water bottle refill station, and take part in these exciting activities:

Origami Making

Learn to create cool designs using the ancient art of paper folding! Kids will give new life to recycled materials by transforming them into intricate creations. Provisions Market + Gifts will host this awesome activity and provide all the required materials!

Harmonica Making

The harmonica is a delightful little instrument that’s great for kids! Learning simple melodies isn’t tricky, and it can be easily carried around. The Langley Arts Council will teach kids to construct their own harmonica that can be brought home as a Festival souvenir.

Face Painting

Kids can get their face painted for free! Choose from favourite cartoon characters, monsters, fantasy and science fiction themes, and more! Thank you to Aura Natural Market for sponsoring the face painting area!

Music and Movement Workshop

Kids can get moving to some awesome music and learn to enjoy music from a dance and performing arts perspective.

Afro-Brazilian Drum Circle

Choose from 25 different percussion instruments at the Afro-Brazilian Drum Circle. Drum circles are great interactive experiences that foster a sense of community and help kids develop their timing, coordination and collaboration skills.

Watercolour Painting Activity

Epiphany Neighbourhood Art Studio will guide your kids through a fun activity where they will learn to use watercolour paints! The art studio is generously providing canvases and art supplies so your kids can experiment with blending and creating different shades.

Kids Art Mural

Epiphany Neighbourhood Art Studio will provide materials so everyone can create paintings that will contribute to an awesome art mural! Paintings will be pieced together to create an even bigger masterpiece.

Youth Art Exhibit

Check out the work of the talented students at Epiphany Neighbourhood Art Studio! The Youth Exhibit is music themed and will showcase a variety of artistic styles.

SuperFun StiltWalking Family

Enjoy the musical performances and have your photo taken with the family of four awesome Stilt Walkers!

Colouring Contest & Rest Area

Thank you to MacCallum Law Group LLP for organizing a wonderful rest space. Catch a shady spot at a picnic table where kids can keep busy with colouring. They can even enter into a colouring contest!

The Kidz Zone will be located on Mary’s Street between Glover Road and Church Street and will open on Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23, from 10 am to 4 pm.

After your family has checked out the Kidz Zone, there are great restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops throughout the Village if you need a little treat! There will also be plenty of fun things to see and do in the adjacent Art Zone, including family-friendly activities like rock painting and at the Indigenous Art & Culture Exhibition
