Join the Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival team as an Event Coordinator! This is an exciting 8-week, 35-hour-per-week summer position that will immerse you in the heart of our 2026 festival, taking place from July 23–26, 2026.

About the role

The Event Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the successful planning and execution of the 2026 Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival. This position offers valuable experience in event operations, planning, stakeholder relations, and customer service, all while supporting an unforgettable community celebration of music and art.

Working with a dynamic team of festival staff and volunteers, this role requires creativity, organizational skills, and a proactive, service-oriented approach.

Our festival is a multi-day, multi-venue event that brings the Village of Fort Langley to life. Together, we create a welcoming space for artists to shine, volunteers to collaborate, and audiences of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy exceptional performances, inspiring art, and an unforgettable festival atmosphere.

Compensation

  • $20/hour

  • 8-week position (June–July)

Work Environment

  • Hybrid: Remote pre-festival work with some in-person meetings.

  • In-person attendance required for specific tasks the week of the festival and during the festival week

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate festival events and activities.

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and event materials.

  • Collaborate with sponsors to coordinate their participation.

  • Provide onsite event coordination during the festival, July 23–26.

  • Participate in online planning meetings.

  • Direct and support volunteers at event sites.

  • Maintain accurate reports, records, and correspondence.

  • Assist in physical event tasks such as lifting, walking, and setting up.

Your Qualifications

  • Event management experience, with a proven ability to coordinate multiple activities.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.

  • A friendly, outgoing demeanor and excellent customer service skills.

  • The ability to work independently, remotely, and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Strong multitasking abilities, adaptability, and excellent time management.

  • Physical readiness to stay mobile and active during the festival.

Job Requirements

This position is anticipated to be funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Applicant requirements:

  • Availability: In-person attendance for select pre-festival activities and mandatory availability the week of the festival and during the festival weekend.

  • Equipment: Personal computer, software, and cell phone required.

  • Eligibility:

    • Between 15-30 years of age.

    • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee.

    • Valid SIN and eligible to work in Canada.
