This free open-air celebration invites you to get creative and inspired with art activities designed to light a spark - whether you’re young or young at heart, an established painter or just getting started.
This unique space is where the arts flourish and our community comes together for creativity and connection!
Check out the host of fun, family-friendly activities, take part in art activities and workshops anmd soak in the artwork passionately created by artists.

Opus Outdoor Painting Challenge
Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, 11:00am – 4pm
Saturday, July 27th:
Registration: 11:00 am (ongoing, walk-ins are welcome)
Painting: 11:00 - 2:00 (First-come-first-serve)
Display/Gallery assembly: 2:00 - 3:00
Gallery Preview: 3:00 - 4:00
Sunday, July 28th:
Registration: 11:00 am
Painting: 11:00 - 2:00 (First-come-first-serve)
Judging: 2:00 - 3:00
Art Pickup Window: 3:00 - 4:00 (Any art left behind will be kept at the Opus Langley store for one week, then disposed of)
(After the event) Winners will be contacted after the event and can collect their gift card in-store
Whether you are a new artist or an avid artist, come and join us while we paint the Jazz Festival for the Opus Painting Challenge.
Meet us at the Opus tent located at the Art Zone at 11 am. You will be given a free painting surface provided by Opus. Bring your paints and brushes or you can purchase these from the Opus exhibit. Then when you are ready, you can head out and explore the festival to explore a variety of subject matter and inspiration - from jazz acts on the main stage to river scenery and everything in between.
After your masterpiece is completed, come back to the Opus tent by 2pm where we will display your art. While on display in our Opus Painting Gallery, the audience will vote for their favourite from several categories such as Acrylic, Watercolour and Oil. and prizes will be awarded after 3:30pm.
Painters of all ages and skill levels are invited to harness their creative talents at the free Opus Outdoor Painting Challenge!

Watercolour Painting Workshop

About the artist
Elena Markelova has taught many watercolor workshops and is working on a series of online art classes for both beginners and experienced artists who are interested in learning a medium as well as some techniques that Elena uses to create her unique pieces.

Acrylic Painting Workshop
Eric Hotz

Eric will host an acrylic on canvas board workshop focusing on how to mix colours with a limited pallete with a brief explanation on painting composition, suitable for all levels of experience.
About the artist
Eric Hotz has worked full-time as an artist, illustrator, designer, and painting/art instructor for over 30 years creating a wide variety of artwork in a number of styles and mediums. His favorite medium is working in acrylics and enjoys painting landscape and natural history subjects. He currently teaches acrylic and watercolour painting for the Langley Arts Council, as well as run Paint Nite events for Paint Nite Fraser Valley and also renders paintings for art gallery shows either as a solo artist or in group shows.
Rock Painting

Art in the Garden

Location: Under the tents in the garden of the Birthplace of BC Historic Trust, 9045 Glover Road, Fort Langley
The Fort Langley Artists Group (FLAG) presents Art in the Garden! View original works of art and interact with the artists as you hear the stories behind their creations.
Watch FLAG artists painting, sculpting and drawing; and learn about techniques in acrylic, oil, watercolor, ceramics, coloured pencil, encaustic and photography. All works will be available for purchase.
