Fort Gallery Exhibit & Gordon’s Jazz Trio, Friday, July 26, 7pm

9048 Glover Road, Fort Langley

Experience Beyond Barrier, Vancouver-based artist Jenny Hawkinson's new exhibition Beyond Barrier and listen to the sounds of jazz from Gordon’s Jazz Trio. In a world that is often bitterly divided - from border walls to partisan politics - Hawkinson's multimedia artworks extend gentleness and humanity to these conversations. Using materials and images from the domestic sphere - lace, embroidery, stitching - Hawkinson brings intimacy and personal connection to our most divisive social and political issues.  In the midst of difference and division she asks us to consider how we might make a home together. Gordon Edmunds has been playing guitar since he was 16.  He'll be joined by Grant Lamonthe on bass with a touch of harmonica and Bob Nagle on bongos.  The trio plays mostly in the Fort Langley area.  Wine and refreshments provided. Admission by donation.

Come for the jazz....enjoy the art.

Part of the success of 2018’s Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival was the inclusion of the local artists’ studio and gallery tour. Back by popular demand Art Fort Langley is planning a summer art walk which will take place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, July 27 during the festival. Visit local shops, studios and galleries to pick-up a map of participating Fort Langley and surrounding area artists, and look for the Art Fort Langley flags out front of studios and galleries on the day of the event.
